The thing that held me back from using them, was wanting to pay the fee for the user I was sending the gift to. If I was giving them a $30 usd equivalent gift, I’d want their balance after claimed to be ~$30 usd. I suppose ecash based will fix that?

nostr:npub1az9xj85cmxv8e9j9y80lvqp97crsqdu2fpu3srwthd99qfu9qsgstam8y8 or anyone else who got their hands on a coldcard Q, any idea how to export encrypted ‘Secure Notes & Passwords’ to a SD card? When I go to export all I see is “WARNING: No encryption happens here. Your secrets will be cleartext.”

nostr:npub1ynn5qnnc95qaqjejrtyazfdgutlxvme3djywe6s9wg76k68s37sqsl2qfd As a follow-up to nostr:npub1xgyjasdztryl9sg6nfdm2wcj0j3qjs03sq7a0an32pg0lr5l6yaqxhgu7s's awesome high-level overview of lightning wallets, this link has a very thorough comparison for anyone that wants to go deeper down the rabbit hole: https://anitaposch.com/lightning-wallet-test-2024

Nostr wallet connect is great for letting apps pull sats from Alby. It would also be great if I could use NWC to add funds to Alby in other situations. Normally I top up Alby manually, but if I had it set to where my balance got below a certain level, auto topping off from another NWC capable source would be really nice.

Took a cool video of lightning, didn’t have enough karma to post it on any subreddit that accepts video without the auto-moderators killing it. https://nostr.build/av/9d42eecb43cf8420332adda61341620857e9e9f2f2fe2f3ed835aece5f28e290.mov

All of these communities are going to need something like ‘NIP-34 - Algorithmic Filter’ to sort posts within the community. Hopefully that gets ironed out soon.

Announcing "subreddits" on Nostr

https://satellite.earth/n/satellite/npub1lunaq893u4hmtpvqxpk8hfmtkqmm7ggutdtnc4hyuux2skr4ttcqr827lj

Hey everyone — my initial implementation of the NIP-172 draft proposal for Reddit-style moderated communities is now live on Satellite!

Want to see an example?

Check out n/satellite - a nostr community I've just created for Satellite-specific questions, feature requests, etc.

Do you have an idea for a community for which you'd be willing to take on the role of founder/moderator?

You just need to decide on a name and fill out the info for banner image, description, and rules. I'm working on creating a directory of communities, but for now, please drop a link to your new community as a reply to this post.

If we can position nostr as a credible alternative to reddit it could be huge.

Here's some screenshots:

Perhaps a dumb question, but how does one navigate to n/satellite ? https://satellite.earth/n/satellite doesn’t seem to do the trick. Searching for satellite or n/satellite doesn’t pull up the community because they’re not valid names or npubs. Clicking the + button in communities pulls up the option to create a new community, not follow a current one.

Is it possible to type in a lightning address somewhere to pay to? When I type into the lightning payment request field I get “Value provided was not a valid Bitcoin address or Lightning Invoice”

Not seeing my Zap show up. Used Alby, and have successfully seen a zap of mine displayed previously. A learning experience for all.

iOS 16.2, TestFlight. Image preview doesn’t load for me either

Interesting. My zaps have shown up on other notes though via the same method. So it was their receiving wallet that was allowing that and not my end? So the senders wallet doesn’t need to be NIP-57 complainant, just the receivers?

I have the TestFlight Damus build, and I zapped and paid with a NIP-57 compliant wallet (Alby), how come the zap doesn’t show up? What other piece of the puzzle is missing to prevent me from seeing 1k added to the zaps on this note?

Nice. I’ll have to give it a try. Had to take my LND node down and had been debating giving CLN a try when I bring it back. Thanks.

I know that LNbits will run on a c-lightning node, and that LNbits has support for lndhub. Despite lnd in the name, do you know if the lndhub plug-in still works (works as in can be connected to remotely) on lnbits if it is funded by a c-lightning node and not a LND node?
