Inshore fishing in the Gulf of America

Gar fish can be hard to catch. They do not have lips for your hook to pierce, and their mouths are armored with teeth and bone. Gar will grab onto your bait and swim away before they swallow, so it is best to keep your bale open to allow your line to unwind. Once it seems the gar has swallowed its meal, close your bale and set the hook. Gar have been around since the Triassic period, over 240 million years. This is a Spotted Gar I caught in Louisiana in May.

I am working on it, I thought adding alby was enough. Working on a LN addy now.

I just added my alby address, but I was meaning to lure in anglers (pun intended) if there was a nostr app for logging catches. I am not quite skilled enough to make something like this on my own, but I am more than interested to help build it!

If there was a nostr-based app where anglers could log their catches similar to the Fishbrain app that might pull some in. Fishbrain has a social aspect to it, but is mainly used to log:

- Photos of catch

- Species

- Body of water

- Time of day

- Weather data

- Length and Weight

- Tackle used

It doesnt look like there are many of us. I found your post by searching for "fishing" to see if there were any others here.

Thanks Luke! Hope you make it out fishing soon, fall is a great time of year to start.

The weather was great, two days partially cloudy and no other campers in sight. The sky was so dark at night you can see the milky way.

I caught a nice Rainbow Trout at Flaming Gorge using a Berkley flicker crank bait I found on the shore.
