“Who will build the roads?”

What if roadway projects could be funded on an opt-in basis by volunteering a toll to the infrastructure you use. The most important road to you is the one you are using. With this in mind, would you make small payment per use?

I know tolls are not a new concept; however, nowadays, we have more technology (bitcoin & lightning) to leverage in making this a more seamless experience, especially on a smaller scale. Think lightning micropayments to city transportation nodes/infrastructure (intersections, roundabouts, bridges).

For example: Your city could create a registry of transportation nodes which each have a Bitcoin/Lightning address. Micropayments can be volunteered the nodes you pass through on your daily commutes.

A lot of details to flesh out.

- Who controls the keys?

- Who makes decisions about use of funds?

- Would users participate in funding a certain project if it were advertised with a recommended toll to reach a funding objective by certain date?

It will be interesting to see how our transportation system evolves on a bitcoin standard.

I am thinking about roads and nodes.

Given the symbiosis of bitcoin and energy, I believe we have only reached hyperbitcoinization once all energy is exchanged exclusively for bitcoin.

What is best the best piece of content to help a friend understand that there is no need for a crypto silver to bitcoin’s gold?

I recommended The Bullish Case for Bitcoin by Vijay Boyapati.

Any others come to mind?

Should a nostr user be able to set an “@ rate” to place a price on their attention to a post? There could be an @ rate for people you follow (0 sats) and x sats for anyone else. A user could even pay extra to @ someone to get their attention over the minimum @ rate payers. Seems like a nice feature to filter out spam for those with many followers, but also nice for those with little followers to pay for someone to read their post.

#[0] probably won’t see this, so please repost if you would also value this feature.
