Mailed in my ballot because I can’t make it to the polls in person. (I work) To get the ballot I had to prove who I was, then sign the inner envelope, then sign the outer. Twice the two parties will validate I’m allowed to vote before counting it. In person I need a utility bill. #Election2024 #harris2024 #trump2024 #Oliver2024 #MailInVoting

Something the rest of the world does not get about the U.S.
It is big.
Drove for 9 and 1/2 hours to go 580 miles. (Cost me $52 in gas)
That’s like going from center of Paris to center of Berlin.
I, of course, went doorstep to doorstep.

Fall colours, moderate traffic.
Had a great talk with my parents, and today get to see my friends that have not escaped from New York yet.

My 3 mile route is along a heavy traveled road
I saw 9 Harris 4 Trump and 2 Kennedy (they were on either side of a driveway and might have been the same house)
I saw 11 for the state rep (dem)

Not seeing how my voting in unopposed elections, skewed election districts, and in a state that is going to select one of the two by 66% or more is going to make any change.

Five unopposed.
Two might as well be, the district is 57% to 27%. (One of the two is not even campaigning)
One race is so forgone in the state that neither party is running ads.
Only two are worth voting in.
