Im on the same camp, love bech32. Just hope all the clients enforce it by not rendering hex. If they render both, we are unlikely to see uniformity.
I don’t disagree, but it’s causing confusion. We might end at a place where most software just accepts both. Unless one is enforced. It seems that ppl will always be experimenting.
Even Damus doesn’t accept bech32 for nip5 verification on the nostr.js

Two weeks, for three fiddy.
We are going to need filter/buffer relays, once this thing really takes off, clients won’t be able to just plug into the fire hose of a heavy relay.
Maybe that’s where user’s self hosted (or managed) relays may come into place.
You will be able to do more complex filtering and other event manipulation before it hits your different clients.
I dream of the day I can just have 8bl ppl on a stream of consciousness public square type protocol where the client or middle buffer relay translate everything to my preferred langue and let’s me just have super complex filters saved as my different feeds.
