Governor of the RBA which handed out $500 Billion in stimulus during Covid which inadvertently pumped the #HousingPonzi speaks on Bitcoin:
“I don’t understand it,” she said. “But, you know, I don’t really see a role for it in, certainly in the Australian economy or payments system.”
Well good to know what the Head of the Parasite thinks! People who don’t understand Bitcoin and who accidentally made houses unaffordable for a gigantic empty country are always the best people to listen to on all things economics..

When she speaks

Hey #nostr and #bitcoin frens, quick mood check:
Context: You’re investments are going well and you’re considering a new residence.
Are you picking the French castle or the run down dog box with a single bathroom in Eastern Suburbs of Sydney?

#austriches - we are not a serious country.
RN
- cost of living crisis + masses being priced out of shelter
- birth rates seriously dropping
- ridiculously high immigration numbers
- per capita recession
- terrible wage growth
But yeah, critical shortage of tour guides. Sooo critical.
👏👏👏

What are some of non bitcoin specific businesses that are moving to receive payment in #bitcoin or #sats?
The business could support bitcoin, but what I’m interested in are examples of services like marketing, design, trades (plumbers, carpenters)…and so on.
I’ve come across the bitcoin dentist which is cool!
What else?
Pulled equity from the #Australian #Property #Ponzi and put it into BTC this month.
It’s going pretty well.
It’s about mass censorship - a Trojan horse for widespread digital id.

Happening:
- Enormous differential in average income vs median home prices
- Approaching record longest per capita recession
- China, our major trading partner, battling declines in growth and incoming USA tariffs
Australian Government: let’s focus on censorship and banning social media

The #AUStriches #HousingPonzi has seen fertility rates drop to their lowest on record, down 25% since 2008.
Who could have guessed that making it impossible for young people to own a home would impact population growth?!
It’s almost as if turning houses into money for negatively geared Boomers to become paper fiat rich has negative externalities..

Govt won’t need to ban social media for under 16 year olds when there’s none left.
Except I’m my own boss 😜

Hey Australia, it’s probably nothing.
Resi property prices just go up forever though, right? RIGHT?

When Sandor Clegane speaks Sun Tzu, you listen

Absolutely. A good start! Now bring some context to these characters for us 🙏
Where to go though?
In the end, for the 63% of the nation whom are home owners, we also have
- very good and accessible healthcare + education (at least junior and secondary)
- it’s generally safe. Of course we have crime, some violent, however compared parts of USA and Europe, def safer.
However, beyond that and previously mentioned draconian censorship, we also have
- very high income tax on top of GST, CGT, stamp duty, etc
- very high energy prices (when we have an abundance of coal - don’t get me started).
- extreme property or rent prices, great for the landlord class, but it’s not really a win for the nation (I own a home, but I’m not for the extraction of wealth - it’s not productive)
- very tough business conditions. Small business environment not as good as somewhere like USA.
What else?
Where would you go if not Australia?
#nostriches and #austriches
Do Aussies feel anywhere near the passion for freedom as Americans?
We are approaching Orwellian times with MAD and the ban on social media for u16 year olds.
This comes after
- record immigration to the detriment of housing affordability
- Commoditisation of our education (for visas to prop up the ponzi)
- Longest lockdowns globally
- Inability to seriously fight the above without retribution
Agree with the whack a mole, understood re whack a mole.
The govt is starting with broad strokes. First we start with the poorly planned MAD bill and ban for <16 year olds.
Then we find work arounds with VPNs and Nostr…so the government does what in retaliation?
Rather than hiding on Nostr, we should be loud on all platforms before it’s too late (imo).
Genuine questions:
- how? Aust. Banks continuously blocking the movement of fiat to bitcoin exchanges?
- ATO is viscous: your government digital id required, bitcoin tracked, etc
- Nostr not really at the point of replacing something like the education volume on YouTube (think of the chilllllldren)
- nostr will be banned, just like other platforms?
#nostriches and #austriches
The Communications Minister, Michelle Rowland, has declared that virtually ALL social media platforms will fall under the new legislative framework, aimed at preventing all Australians under 16 years old from accessing social media platforms.
She emphasised the inevitability of compliance by stating, “THERE IS NO OUT” and that all must comply to the new regulations.
WTF
