I guess the idea would be similar to git short hashes?
Can I get my vintage notes also into here somehow for archival?
Not sure if I understood correctly. Do you say that people use randomly looking numbers as their pub keys? Good for radix sort, balanced trees, hash tables I guess.
Idea for a social network:
You can only follow elected or to be elected politicians. A follow means that you get a note stream from them about their speech and action collected by the platform. The politicians don‘t have to be on the platform (but can).
An unfollow means that you are tired of their BS. When election day comes, you can have a look at who you follow (and maybe whom your peers follow). The left-overs may be suitable candidates to actually elect.
Disagree with the second part. Politics should start with what you can do locally. Not sure if complaining ever helps.
… well actually complaining with cell phone providers helps to get better contracts… so maybe I‘m wrong there. Complaining when you can act on the response (e.g. cancel the contract) may help. But then again: it‘s rather about what you can do than what you complain about.
Why nostr:npub1s3ht77dq4zqnya8vjun5jp3p44pr794ru36d0ltxu65chljw8xjqd975wz ? Isn‘t Git about the bazaar? Or did I mix up something?
I‘d rephrase: don‘t depend on specific corporations. They can change your permissions. Be flexible with your tech.
Good morning!
But I need to tell others about my plan. Otherwise I don‘t feel enough pressure to realise it.
Final thought: yeah, onion routing
Can I rent servers for cash or Bitcoin somewhere? Short-timed?
Maybe we should buy an IP mixing satellite relay in space (or the international seas)
Didn‘t I see some nostr people talk about ham radios? They could meshnet and you would only see the exit on IP. But the meshnet routing would be unsolved.
Well, I can standup at the town hall meeting and yell at them. But not for cleaning. They‘re doing that very well. So well that you don‘t even feel much that some people are not brought up cleanly.
Agreed. Your agency and the tragedy of the commons are in conflict.
I researched my feelings when not picking up some trash:
- disgust towards the thing
- disgust towards the person who („)lost(“) it
- grateful that the city will clean it for me
- doubt if I didn‘t delegate too much power to them.
The idea of gift wraps is nice for DMs. But not suitable for public speak.
Do (you) bitcoiners pick up trash from the sidewalk if you see some?
Taking on local responsibilities.
Would only be consequential to not delegate street hygiene to the admin apparatus, no?
Are you talking about splitting web socket implementation from relay implementation? Subscription handling is quite coupled to an IP now. But indeed an HTTP proxy could just strip the x-forwarded header.
