Idk that there were still people using ledger for cold storage. But I was going off the btc twitter vibe at the time

So I grew up in & now moved back to what was once the poorest county in my state.

The town is in the poor end of the county and for years has been neglected by both county government & local town council who is composed of people that moved here.

The local community has started a FB page to share idea, news events etc. Every so often the topic of a laundromat or other business opening picks up steam. Now the problem with that is there is ZERO wastewater infrastructure & public works is 1 man who drives around looking at water meters. (Can’t even pay your water bill online btw check or mail in is the only option)

I see a prime opportunity to push the idea of how local government should provide services with the surplus of 1-2 million they keep every year.

Instead of continuing the cycle of woe is us we’re poor and have nothing to do but drugs, I’m trying to figure out ways to build up the town with support.

PS. This is what happens when a community becomes full of citizens who are 80-100% dependent on government aid/welfare & have completely given up on pursuing education for their children.

I have heard and I quote “Why you even trying? You were born here poor with nothing & you’re gonna die here the same way. Stop wasting your time”

I wholeheartedly agree with you. But some people have an issue getting past 1st impressions & make it their entire beliefs.

A bad experience doesn’t mean that it is common place.

To be fair to the couple it depends on what part of the US. I speak as someone raised around all those confederate flags flying.
