Yes always keep a backup kernel available as a fallback in case package updates break your environment. That way you have a working environment if you have trouble sorting out how to revert packages or resolve conflicts.

In still salty I bought a ledger and received it 1 day before that initial controversy. But I was a shitcoiner then and the issue led me to your channel on YT and I actually began to learn about bitcoin.

Now I have my own node, stack sats and a generally less stressful life
