Did you click on the ‘save’ button under the relays list on Snort? That caused the issue for me. After removing the extra relays on Damus, I haven’t seen it happening again (and I used Snort afterwards)

Only users with time and, most importantly, the machinery and know-how will be able to access such pow-limited relays. I don’t think you will have spam problems as the number of users in these relays will be quite small in the first place (having in mind the ‘normie’ population). But again, relays are free to decide who’s allowed to use their services anyway; they can whitelist, blacklist, charge usage fees and so on
I’m not using Rana, but nostr.rest (it has a web interface and you can run it offline). I’m only mining 5 characters, nothing too complex

Correct. My custodial wallet of choice is WoS. It works smoothly with nostr and in multiple other places. I just deposit and withdraw sats as I need them

I believe no client out there today gives you such notifications. At least not the most popular ones like Damus, Astral, Snort, YoSup, Iris and Anigma
