Why am I hearing that Nix is on fire :(

Futurama continues to feel like more of a miss than anything else. >.>

Guess I need to put together an actual homepage for easy access to my selfhosted stuff. Opting for Heimdall right now but finding it a bit slow (also LinuxServer.io images are a pain in the ass on Kubernetes). Other suggestions welcome.

It's how I'm handling the shared render cache for my personal site - although it's still a bit rough around the edges and requires Consul to properly self host.

nostr:npub1tye02r27hecm4g343jy8kmtnr3g53vt3qtewdjl0dggqej0a06ks6ae62f It's honestly wonderful. I have three SQLite databases that stream off to S3 for disaster recovery and it's entirely transparent to the underlying application.

What’s a good way to scrape Prometheus formatted metrics from a Kubernetes cluster without installing full fat Prometheus in the cluster itself? E.g a memory conscious environment.

Low key liking the sourcehut chat setup more than any Matrix client. irc has sucked me in.

Guess I'll stick with Cinny for Matrix (and chat.sr.ht for irc)

TIL Thunderbird has a built in Matrix client.

It's not great.

Everyone out there using Hyprland and I'm over here going "but... but my ethics and morals!"

nostr:npub190evqf287da22r9glvv4laruykkt86dwcexkktmn837r7g9mwuzqdeghqu It will ensure that, in cases where bash or sh isn't directly in /bin, it will pick up the correct path (so /usr/bin/env bash will always point to the correct executable). e.g on Nix, bash and sh and so on are in the nix store.

Remember folks

Use #!/usr/bin/env in your scripts.

*Not #!/bin/bash >:( *

Thinking I'm going to move my Nix deployment stuff from krops to either straight Flakes or wrap it with https://github.com/MatthewCroughan/nixinate.

Sidenote, this is a wonderful talk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Le0IbPRzOE

good morning fedi

Anyways, goonight fedi

Think I'm going to swap to Nushell for a bit and see how it goes. Atuin supports it so I don't lose any shell history which is nice :)
