Trans people are under attack, with government laws that take away their rights. For some, the pushback against that hate is the problem. “Compromise” is needed, and “aggressiveness” is a problem. This is a dangerous path, and I address it at Law Dork. https://www.lawdork.com/p/dangerous-arguments-and-anti-trans-laws
NEWS: On Thursday, a federal judge in Idaho put that state's new anti-trans schools bathroom ban on hold by granting a temporary restraining order: https://www.lawdork.com/p/idaho-schools-bathroom-law-tro

UPDATE: Following this TRO against Idaho's anti-trans school bathrooms ban, the state tonight filed its combined opposition to the plaintiffs' preliminary injunction motion and motion to dismiss the case: https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.idd.52529/gov.uscourts.idd.52529.47.1.pdf
Here is the response to Monday's Eleventh Circuit ruling from the lawyers for the Alabama families challenging the law: "Our clients are devastated by this decision .... While this is a setback, we are confident that it is only a temporary one."

NEWS: Sixth Circuit confirms that Judges Sutton, White, and Thapar will hear the Sept. 1 arguments over Tennessee and Kentucky's bans on gender-affirming care for minors — the same judges who, on 2-1 votes, have allowed the laws to go into effect. https://www.ca6.uscourts.gov/sites/ca6/files/documents/oral_argument_calendars/09012023_arg.pdf

Breaking: Judge blocks Georgia's ban on hormone therapy for transgender minors
New, at Law Dork: https://www.lawdork.com/p/georgia-trans-minors-hormone-ban-injunction
Note: Georgia's ban does not include puberty blockers. That's why it's not discussed (or enjoined) here.
BREAKING: Fifth Circuit rules that challenges to mifepristone's initial approval and to generic approval likely fail. Court rules that the 2016 and later rule changes will likely succeed. But, all remains on hold due to SCOTUS. More to come at Law Dork: https://www.lawdork.com/
INDICTMENT 5: Georgia v. Trump.
Also indicted, 18 others, including Giuliani, Eastman, Chesebro, Meadows, Clark, Ellis, Roman, Powell.

In 30 minutes, Abha Khanna and others will be arguing to a federal court that Alabama's congressional map remains illegal under the Voting Rights Act.
As she told me, Alabama's behavior shows "the need for Section 2 is greater than ever, alive and well." https://www.lawdork.com/p/law-dork-qa-with-abha-khanna
