David, this has been an unacknowledged problem for the west for a long time. We don’t like that war has been informationalized (Chinese term) and thus politicized. It drove a hyper-focus on lethality (aka Mattis) in the DoD. Consequently it emasculated the west by effectively decoupling the act of war from the purpose.
