If you enter imgur right now, does it give you an error? Just double checking. Here’s what I get.
Ok, it’s good to know it’s not Amethyst. Something I use is blocking imgur. Whether it’s the vpn or firewall I don’t know. I think I’ve uploaded to Imgur before without a problem. Hmmm… I need to troubleshoot. Any suggestions are welcome.
Might be the lack of image interoperability that’s been talked about. Is it NIP94?
I’m getting blank images from #[4] too. Are you on Amethyst #[5] ?
You don’t appreciate interoperability as much as when it’s gone and we lose each other’s messages. We should not be seeing blank feeds. I hope bridges are built. #loveinteroperability
That looks delicious. I haven’t had rhubarb in years. Such a complex unique sour flavor.
Brings back that feeling of home mixed with country gardening.
#[1] where do you upload your pics and what nostr client do you use. I don’t know why but I can’t see any of them.
I agree that #nostr design components should be highly customizable. #nostr should not be a place for cookie cutter clients.
To reach something like what you are suggesting would probably take a community with multiple designers addressing the same issue on their own, testing their own choice of the nostr clients pie, and then coming together with a file to show their ideas. Perhaps like you’d see in a poetry or writing workshop. Perhaps something like what #[10] and #[11] are suggesting.
It could be a weekly challenge, and what gets created and redesigned with feedback would go into a designs repository any developer could use.
We’d run into trouble if it’s just one pair of designer eyes and one view of #nostr. We need a joint designer effort + developers to voice their needs & test designs + continuous feedback.
#[3] can you give us a list of one to two syllable words that rhyme with zap?
@dave can you give us a list of one to two syllable words that rhyme with zap?
#[3] tell #[4] that he shouldn’t tease you with that. It doesn’t matter how much humanity has written about war & AI, perhaps we should be more focused on building peace.
Is there enough that’s been written about peace, in comparison to war?
What is the foundation of peace?
Definitely like this coordination! Conversation on the onboarding piece is ongoing in this doc by nostr:npub1kuc70777tsvj67fl75s2dmy376t97hv05xmyuyshzzy6vhj5q5jstv0eyw: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GUNGN7wTr3tNBOE3eCy0T3BTyKhrDay2vd8a0b7ryBk/edit?usp=drivesdk
Thank you for sharing, JonBasa.
Hello BitBees, thank you for your question. The parenthesis around the zap icon means I’m in #onlyzaps mode in Damus.
It’s a special setting, where I’ve chosen not to be able to like anyone’s posts, nor receive any notifications of likes on my posts.
It encourages conversation and higher quality content curation. I can quote notes, renote, comment, or zap. These options tend to give and signal greater value than likes.
Thank you for your time & feedback.
From your wide perspective of #nostr development, which aspect of onboarding needs the most help?
How can we help with NDK’s design layer?
#nostr is about choice and control in the hands of the individual
⚡️⚡️⚡️ zaps are a foundation of a value4value culture
regardless of your understanding or thoughts on bitcoin, onboarding flows should address zaps, and give people that choice with the least amount of friction
💯 we need to help people discover niches based on their interests, so they can dive in and express themselves…
We don’t need one perfect solution, but an amalgamation of many different pieces that support someone’s experience of #nostr, no matter which client they are using.
Every improvement helps, and can get tied in to other efforts, including introductory posts…
This is where that bridge between design and development should be built, translating development into design.
If there’s development of lists or groups of people to follow, can we make that part of the onboarding process?
If there’s stronger search and data discovery based on topics, hashtags, trends, relays… how we can we help make search intuitive? how do we display search suggestions?
If there’s other back-end capabilities that are already getting built to help people discover #nostr, how can we, as designers, help you display that?
We need to have more of these kinds of conversations to guide the designing journey to what’s most needed.
Good point. #nostr is about the people. nostr:note130l34phj0jtdv6hy3ld9ka6uwt5zgk0mryfn8k5wtp24h2hlhjrqrs4npl
#[3] if you ignore governmental sources and sources known to have received government or state funding, what would be the healthiest place to live and why?
That’s a good idea, elsat.
