WHY JAPAN?
The Japanese are one of the most unreached people groups. Less than 1% of the 126 million Japanese people are Christians. The vast majority have not heard the Gospel message.

*1 church for 16,000 people
*Only 7,900 churches, average attendance of 35 people

ENGLISH OUTREACH:
Through opening and maintaining English outreach programs in about 15 different local churches, over 300 Japanese are connected to a local church every week. The Bible is taught after each class, and relationships are deepened on a weekly basis.

BUILDING MAINTENANCE:
Last week a team of 12 skilled volunteers came out from the USA!
https://youtu.be/l3SWIGMQCWE?si=fU6r2KFL_d2zlOWH
Words cannot express how thankful we are for their support. Special thanks to Joseph Cathcart who organized the team.
Please continue to pray with us for safety on the job as we finish up, and that the way we work together would be a pleasing fragrance to the Lord. We will spend the rest of the year on finishing touches, but are almost there!
Thank you to all who have offered to volunteer your time, and have come behind us in prayer and support during this time of need!

THE TEAM
All of the precious work that is done in Japan is accomplished by a group of people the Lord has hand-picked for His service.

We can only accomplish the task before us through the sacrifices of this faithful body of Christ. Check out the team at Japan Mission at the link.
Thank you for your prayers!

LITERATURE:
A team of writers, and support staff work hard every month to prepare over 20,000 copies of the Fountain of Joy leaflet (よろこびの泉) to be distributed into the communities of about 350 different churches throughout Japan.

The leaflets are designed so that churches can stamp them with their local contact information. When they are distributed throughout their communities readers know where to go to connect with a community of believers. This makes it possible to connect thousands of people to local churches.
People are moved as they read stories about other Japanese who are transformed by the life-changing power of the Gospel.
Pray with us as the team works to provide this for churches every month!

MEDIA MINISTRY:
Last week we finish up filming a video for another local church.
Special thanks to the sponsorship of asialink.org who made this video possible!
Now editing begins…
There are many in Japan who are hesitant to come to church for fear that they might be shamed by those around them or that they may not be welcomed if they are not a christian.
We pray that this video would help draw local residents and clearly show that all are welcome to the Father’s house.

THE MEDIA GAP:
There is a media gap between the Japanese church and society, where great work is being done in the church but it is not shared effectively online.
CHURCH- 70% of pastors approaching retirement age, average church at only 30 members, lacking the funding or talent needed to effectively use media in engaging the next generation for Christ.
SOCIETY- +94% of Japanese are connected to the internet, +90% of users actively browsing through mobile devices.
HELP US CLOSE THE GAP
There are churches that would like to create a promotional video for their church but don't have the funds to get the project rolling.
If you feel led to partner with us in this mission to close the media gap with the Japanese church, please contact us!

CAFE MINISTRY:
Last week we re-opened CAYA Cafe for the community.
We pray that it would be a place where people can truly "Come as they are" and feel the presence of the Lord.

A couple weeks ago we submitted VISA applications for the Thomas couple, scheduled to come out to join us January 2024!
Please pray with us for Ed and Toby Thomas from Texas, U.S.A. as they prepare to make this transition to Japan. May the Lord go before them and prepare the ministry waiting ahead as they walk with Him in each step.

CAYA MUSIC:
Last week we restarted our music ministry!
Students come to JM to learn guitar and bass from a local seminary student. Students get lessons from a top notch musician and a short word from the Bible each week. Pray for Mitsuya as he teaches music and spreads the love of God.
