got my hands on a Pixel 8 pro a while ago. Previous owner said that the sim slot is dead so he sold it for dirt cheap.
I finally had the time to have a closer look. There was a piece of cling film or similar stuck in the slot. I managed to pull it out and it reads the sim card perfectly.
Time to install GrapheneOS.
