Amethyst forgot about a relay I added for some reason.

> Monero steals the cypherpunks, criminals, and idealists. Arguably those who we need most rn

Monero[chan] has better curves

Bitcoiners mad they just get the laser eyes and no monerochan 😕
It seems like different clients display and support different metadata fields. I have an $xmr field set through gossip, but it doesn't show up on amethyst.
Yeah I agree I was just saying this is about the only difference as far as the ability to audit supply. You are right there is no way to know if a wallet is lost or held in diamond hands.
waiting for a btc transaction to complete is like watching paint dry. Better to go do something else in the meantime.
ok so I *should* be zappable now. sent you a zap as a test. The amethyst app seems to have a fixed zap of 1000 sats (~$0.25 in funny money)
> An open, transparent ledger leaves no room for hiding corruption
If we were talking about government spending or publicly traded companies I would say this is a good thing. When government dictates what corruption means and targets people based on political affiliations having a private ledger for individuals to conduct personal business on is a good thing. I am all for governments being forced to use a public open ledger though. The main reason I am an advocate for cryptocurrency [generically] is that governments can't be trusted to manage the money supply. The reason monero is more appealing is that the political climate we live in today is temultuous and full of risk. Think about how many people have sent Snowden a zap on here. Do you think that if the US government wanted to target those people they couldn't figure out at least some portion of real identities tied to the lightning wallets sending the evil leaker monies?
One thing running a node won't tell you that you might be able to discern on bitcoin is how much of the currency is locked up in lost wallets. On bitcoin you can just watch those wallets for activity, but in monero any lost currency still counts as part of our total supply since the lost addresses can't be identified by their lack of activity.
Not when she was 6 or 9 but yeah could be rumors. I think I heard it was in the haddith but unless you're a scholar and read Arabic it's kind of inaccessible
