I've long been on the lookout for stories that would incorporate the fascinating topics surrounding bitcoin into the context of an engaging fiction. As a storyteller and a bitcoiner (also reformed from shitcoining) I've found myself delighted by the many layers crafted into Avi Burra’s “24”.

**THE BOUNTY WITHIN**

Ever since "24" got on my radar, one of the most intriguing aspects of the release of the book was knowing there was a 24 word puzzle bounty intertwined within the story.

On one side, this element has been a genius marketing tool to incentivise readers to read the book quickly upon release, and additionally I found that the 24 word quest has made reading this book one of the most interactive reading experiences of my life.

(Yes, I’m still on my journey to find the answer to that puzzle, but as the main character says in the book: “*At first I was impatient, and wanted to find out as quickly as possible. Soon, I realized this was going to be a journey that unravels at its own pace.*”)

**THE STORY**

In essence this is the story of how a “shitcoiner” becomes a bitcoiner in 24 surreal and revealing chapters.

The unexpected death of his dad takes Oliver into the five stages of grief and into the mysterious 24-word quest that his father left for him. A thrilling journey of discovery with the crypto/web3 startup world as a backdrop that leads us straight into the early days of bitcoin and its underlying cypherpunk culture.

**THE HEARTBEAT OF THE TIMECHAIN**

Some of the most beautiful writing in the book are found in the allegories and symbolisms used to define Bitcoin’s timechain.

The way the bitcoin protocol breathes under each one of the surrealist poetry found in the Nouncemeister’s words, as well as the many ways Avi Burra has managed to simplify the beauty of the technical aspects of Bitcoin into concepts that anyone can understand is nothing short of remarkable.

“Yes, that was the beautiful sound you heard a short while back. The sound of agreement,” The Nouncemeister smiled.* )

**CONCLUSION**

Without a doubt, the book is an ode to bitcoin and the underlying sovereignty it empowers baked into a story that any reader could enjoy.

It is evident that people outside the crypto and bitcoin industries would miss many of the epic references weaved into the text, however the story is appealing enough that even no-coiners can be delighted by the orange light emanating from 24.

It is also the perfect gift to orangepill your shitcoiner friends.

Congratulations Avi for the epic milestone you have reached, the Nouncemeister shall stay with me for a little longer.

Exactly. I worry that “data ownership” is not a big enough driver for the average person, but create in one place distribute everywhere could be a great tool to increasing the interestingness of content available on Nostr. And then Nostr wins if it can also assemble the most interesting conversations around that content.

Imagine a service which is not pitched as a nostr service. e.g. “PostEverywhere”

Question for US orange/purple pillers: how do we get waiters and uber drivers set up and zapped in under two minutes now without launching into a soliloquy on lndhub and channel splicing?

In 2017 it took ~9 months for #Bitcoin to go from $1k to $20k. The block subsidy was 12.5, there was a lot more BTC sloshing around on exchanges, mining was boiling the oceans, and there was zero institutional money coming in.

$1k to $20k is 20x.

$50k to $1M is 20x.
