COVID should have been the big filter in everyone's lives, the friends who were still willing to be friends with you despite whatever personal disagreements you may or may not have had regarding COVID and all the shenanigans therein are worth keeping and can be trusted in the future. The ones who shrieked at you for not following government policy to the letter cannot ever be trusted again, even if they admit they made a mistake. Because that momentary mistake shows a great weakness in their minds, that all it takes to change their opinions is an authoritative voice on the TV telling them what to think and how to think. Our government hates us and openly sees us and our families as the number 1 threat to their continued existence. It's a psychotic position held by mentally unstable people who will be viewed as unfathomably evil monsters by future generations, but one that will hurt you and those you love should you choose to surround yourself with people who are little more than walking loudspeakers for that psychosis in the immediate future.
