Docker based setups should be a bit easier to replicate?
#nostrudel blindspot is π. A great way to find new follows from my follows. Definitely the best web client I've tested so far.
PWAs shouldn't be written off.
Official Exchange rates are meaningless. Anyone can choose their exchange rate and it is dependent on the other party to acceptor reject if the underlying base currency is in Satoshis.
If user A chooses their exchange rate as 400sat/$ and they have got 5000sats, $8 dollar shows up in their wallet.
If user B chooses their exchange rate as 450 sat/$ then if user B expects $2, they generate an invoice which amounts to 900 sats. User A would see the amount on this invoice as $2.25 and either pays it or reject.
No need for a central rate agreement

you would want to replace the host settings (line 28) with your domain/subdomain. Starting both services should be fine. Also I reduced the size of the final docker image.
Would a sample docker-compose file with traefik and the wot relay setup be useful? This is what I currently use.
On #amethyst 0.91, it seems the dvms have been improved drastically. They are a lot faster now compared to previous builds
Not hard at all. Would probably submit a PR to improve the current docker-compose setup.
The indentation in golang makes my eyes hurt π€. Yeah I know it shouldn't matter but I work with a variety of different languages. Go is an outlier when it comes to indentation.
I get we are currently focused on secure communication but from the original post if we to include the need for Bitcoin, from my own experience, most just don't get it. And those who do get why it is important aren't ready or willing to take ownership. Which drives the point of the OP.
I don't gain anything by this being normalized. It is what I've observed in my endeavor to wake people I care about up. It is possible they may eventually get it when the need arise but there is no point trying to force it.
Do they know it is end to end encrypted? If they did, apps like telegram which isn't end to end encrypted won't be popular. Most would just use what is popular and don't really care about e2ee. It all boils down to what is convenient for them.
It is what it is.
using a different JavaScript runtime than nodejs would yield a completly different result. Heard of bun?
The vast majority of normies actions and behavior don't portray this unfortunately.
Surprised to see JavaScript being suggested as ugly compared to go. Wouldn't be one of the disadvantage of JavaScript IMO.
Very effective on the client. For a long reply thread, scrolling from the middle seems to duplicate other replies but not a biggie.
It would obviously be a combination of different solutions to fully combat spam but for client side, filtering (with regex support) is a low effort solution that seems to work well
Filtering still works because now it isn't just on the post body but on all the note fields like profile pic, Display name etc at least on amethyst.
Blocking by regex would be dope
Mute the phrase GM, from 'wss' and it goes away
Was just thinking about this. A way to specify a phrase to mute.
