i am trying to use nostr only as well, so far so good, but i see lot of spam here

nobody pays anyone to build relays, which is the nostr word for the database that drives nostr
i built one https://geyser.fund/project/realy pretty much did all of the work unpaid
adding full text search feature to it is a good 6 weeks of work, it's not a small feature
i'd love to do it but i have to spend my time doing dumb shit with shitcoin databases to pay my rent and feed myself
