The American (East Coast) version of the challenge is: A chartered bus is novice level, Greyhound or Peter Pan is beginner level, Megabus or similar is advanced level, and a Chinatown bus is veteran level.
Everyone who says that they enjoy traveling should take at least one overnight bus trip.
Made it back this morning. Greyhound trips are always an adventure, especially the overnight ones.
Anyhow, due to some unforeseen events, I’m taking Greyhound back to NYC tonight.
In any case, buried in the piles is my dad’s stepdad’s hunting hatchet and knives.
I’m taking them back to Brooklyn. Not that I’m going to use them out there, but I read the novel Hatchet enough as a kid to recognize and respect the usefulness of keeping a hatchet around.

An old country dude who was friends with my dad came by this morning before we started demolishing the shed. His advice was good and succinct “keep hitting it with an ax.”
I bet he had plans for most of it.
My dad was raised partially by his grandfather, who lived during the Great Depression, so of course the shed was full of stuff that my dad had saved because it may be useful.
Tearing down an old aluminum shed with a hammer and an ax.
Back in Virginia. It’s so green here. Each tree seems to jump out at the train as we pass.

I totally missed that there was a minor riot in Union Square yesterday.
I'm not a fan of the deli in the background, but I do like their flags
