Claude Shannon’s Information Theory, according to some should be called ‘Communication Theory’.
The theories original purpose was to solve practical problems in structure and transfer of information and not the meaning of the information itself (as the name implies).
One of the reasons for not changing the name of the theory at the time was due to historical momentum.
Over time, the principles of the Theory were applied to fields beyond traditional communication e.g genetics, neuroscience, art etc.

A robot should look like a robot.
Don’t try to make it look like a human.
Just like you wouldn’t try to make a wolf look like a sheep.

If you created a browser for all the world’s knowledge with a social algorithm (something with no bias and functions purely on the basis of Mathematics) that provides you the user with a personalized feed. Could one say the universe is communicating to you through the browser?

As for the stories, themselves...l have questions and doubts which is a great thing for curiosity.
