So apart from the fact that I've been off work Thursday, Friday due to a very painful lower back issue where my lower spine clicks when i wiggle side to side when brushing my teeth for example. Years of climbing masts and lifting things I probably shouldn't have so don't do it kids.
All in all though It's been a really good weekend as I've returned to my favourite window manager Qtile ( Wayland ) and I've dumped Gmail too, So that has to cancel the back issue out yes ?

I tried making a switch last year and ended up back to my current configuration (protonmail and then a company in Toronto that has been doing it for ever). My current configuration is email accounts with the site hosting all over the place.

Mission complete Gmail has now been binned ! That wasn't too difficult at all and as if by magic I've started receiving emails that I never got whilst using Gmail. Funny that isn't it not ?

And so it is in progress the great email migration from Gmail to Fastmail for both myself and my wife using our own domain.
Updated all the DNS in Hurricane Electric and accounts setup in Fastmail now just to tweak things and setup the clients. Then I suppose I'll start the account migration process for both.

Yes I am TBH as on Arch I was always trying to run everything from the AUR git and countless times things would break. This is way more stable and I'm not totally against systemd but running a distro without it is a breath of fresh air. Certain things are a learning curve just because you've gotten used to how it was but that's what makes it fun for me. I love to be constantly learning.

Discovered yet more emails we're no longer receiving thanks to G so it looks like I'm going to migrate our email to nostr:npub13d2402jwe8g4jlsv6vneehj4zlwj06446sx9lhpg0hsxdgm02c0skjlvlm and point my domain there. Just need two accounts with all admin access and billing done by myself. So they seem to fit the bill ( $10 USD for two standard accounts ) and certainly have plenty of good reviews.
Maybe a job for tomorrow.

My kids also had a habit of doing this; it’s an annoying design flaw in an otherwise really well designed ecosystem.

Since moving from Arch to Void I've toyed with other Wayland based window managers like Sway and River which I have to say the latter is very good. But do you never sometimes feel at home when trying 100% to feel settled in with another WM ?
Recently though on #VoidLinux the Qtile package was updated and now you can sudo xbps-install -S qtile-wayland and OMG I'm home ! 😍
Time to update and fix the bugs in my old configs.
