Yeah, it sounds like he is just rebranding. Writing MGE fanfics is already restrictive, especially if you try to keep to /monster/'s interpretation of the series. Expanding out from that can allow for more interesting fantasy romance concepts.
Rebranding would do him good, especially if he keeps to the spirit of /monster/ even if not the form, which we hope.

I'm hoping that the whole "good friend" bit is what that means, and that it's not just one last plug for his actual buddy or something.
Either way, sad to see such a major figure go, even if he's only "leaving" on a technicality. :lain_sad:
