Honey badger is a speculator. If honey badger does not give a fuck about people adopting BTC for everyday use what is honey badger betting on? Exchanging BTC for goods does not necessarily mean converting it to FIAT (unless shop is stupid or we deep in a bear market). Once businesses with a good BTC strategy will constantly outperform their competitors the rest will follow.

I disagree with one part… coffeshops accepting Bitcoin. This bit matters a whole lot. Not just coffee, all shops. Why does it matter? It makes people think in sats and that is key.

Let’s take Switzerland as a case study, it started with major online shops, then regional taxes, then BTC available at any train station in the country, then local shops in selected cities, then post (also a bank with confederal ownership) accepting Bitcoin in and out, now major payment terminal provider is getting ready to roll out crypto options in thousands of shops.

When people accumulate BTC they often think in FIAT. Spending BTC for goods makes people think in sats, and that is key imo.

I do not think inscriptions are “bad for bitcoin.” They are valid fee paying transactions, that cannot be blocked even if you dislike their use, and may have significant censorship resistant use cases going forward such as preserving important books, code, and other data. That said, inscriptions cannot be transferred unless you believe in the bullshit "ordinal theory.” It is the sales that are a concern, uneducated users being targeted by promoters who rather than disclose the tradeoffs choose to gaslight any of us who speak up.

So many important things to focus on but without fail, year after year, the focus turns to get rich quick schemes and dumping garbage on retail.

100% agree 💜 I think the tech focus right now is a natural result of the first movers with anything being a bit techie minded. Also the ethos of Nostr plus lightning is a natural fit for bitcoiners. But as the apps/clients mature this will be the perfect place for artists/creators of all types to establish a presence. I actually write music too 🤙 and am excited for better support for music/video/streaming/etc. It’s still a bit lacking on that front. With direct frictionless payments with zaps, it will be an incredible way for artists to connect directly with supporters both socially and commercially. Followed you 💜🤙
