Longer hair than you. Got the ⏻ symbol into #Unicode. Open Standards / Source / Data geek. Known as @Edent on most social platforms. Bit obsessed with #SolarPower but not quite a #SolarPunk. Please read the link before replying. Yes, that means you!

nostr:npub1pnm3zu5aqe9ac9v6fh8mcjffdgmrn09ccwg76kuelz6r3cyr3e6sqlfkpe oh, that's clever!

Can you compare them to satellite photos to see what's there?

nostr:npub1d0wcljclefymdz2wedpvsruglk0vxrrsv2xffvzapc2f2wzue84qzxgw9c how very frustrating!

I used to love all the weird hacks that were available on the search API - you did some great work there.

Hope all is well with you now.

nostr:npub19lt4284mghqxekzm6n5njxurnxrxhqhrva2leusdsuu5ja5jeycq66qfjk I used to, many years ago. Nowadays I've embraced the fact that sometimes I'll just go weeks (or ocassionally even months) without a post. It's fine.

nostr:npub19lt4284mghqxekzm6n5njxurnxrxhqhrva2leusdsuu5ja5jeycq66qfjk this is how you keep the flow of daily posts? I always wondered how you managed it.

nostr:npub120wqqq9jsn0kj0rtrl34nzdg20u8lc636r26mh2sk7p9jgvyv8ps0q6rfp I usually write one post per day and stick it on the end of the queue.

But, for example, today I wrote 3 - which gives me some breathing space during the week.

I have too many ideas in my head and they all need to be released.

nostr:npub19lt4284mghqxekzm6n5njxurnxrxhqhrva2leusdsuu5ja5jeycq66qfjk thanks for sharing. I didn't even know Mosh was a thing. I frequently swap between hardwire and wifi at work, and I roam a decent amount. It always annoys me when connections hang. This sounds like the solution I have needed for awhile.

nostr:npub18ytyspnm3an47gdc346kwrnxp8l0m8hhqh7xa9tqxdqy9zapeemqslng34 it was surprisingly easy to set up. The only difficulty was opening ports on my firewall for external access.

nostr:npub19lt4284mghqxekzm6n5njxurnxrxhqhrva2leusdsuu5ja5jeycq66qfjk 😆 Are the really far-flung ones about Y2K-style issues?

nostr:npub1p836djc5vp7sdzjxzzw3vfyen6ceuhekz78wz6lac7yc8yh77cxsz4v48v mostly me finding old newspaper articles saying "what will the word be like in the far-flung future of 2025" and seeing what they got right.

And a few dead-man's-switches, obviously ;-)

Any other #bloggers get nervous if they don't have several blog posts scheduled for future publication?

I've currently got enough posts to last a week. So I'm doing OK.

I also have a bunch scheduled for 2025, and 9 for 2030!

Anyone else doing the same thing?

🆕 blog! “Mosh supports .ssh/config”

I've recently started using Mosh. It's a clever bit of software that keeps your SSH sessions running, even if your client goes offline or changes IP address. But I find the syntax used to launch it a bit verbose and easy to forget. A typical command is something like: mosh --ssh="ssh -p 1234" myname@example.com Within […]

I used to love messing around in time machines when I was older…

I know of no greater pleasure than watching bees getting covered in pollen as they rummage around your sunflowers.

nostr:npub1cvv8hq8em4jn3prg4jtlymfpfw6e98jk3m9z685hkv9z2vnkpx5q5mmv8d I'm not making a moral judgement.

I know that some social networks have a prude filter - I find it interesting that Mastodon doesn't.

Interesting things about the new Mastodon #Search.

😳 There's no blocking of rude words.

Obviously, no one would be naughty enough to post any rude content on the Fediverse, right?

But if they did, you could search for it.

nostr:npub1f9q77nwchay4jtdnk6m98nzqackcp68p66kf0ksgk7uj90hhgcxs9sd0uj I've opted in and I've posted. It doesn't find my posts when I search for "shkspr.mobi".
