Want a #Bitcoin programmable clock that does more than 6 digits & can also display @Excellion notation for under $60?

You need an Ulanzi TC001 Smart Pixel Clock. I found mine cheapest on AliExpress but you can also get them from Amazon or directly from ulanzi.com

I got mine for only $40 USD shipped. How to install this? Here's a quick guide: 👇

Step 1: Awtrix Opensource Firmware (flash the TC001) blueforcer.github.io/awtrix3/#/flas… Use the USB cable & plug the clock into your computer. Turn on the clock then flash & erase it. Once flashed, connect to the device to configure the WiFi to your network.

Step 2: Once restarted, browse to your device IP (use AngryIP scanner to find it) in your browser & change your IP to a static IP.

Step 3: Add the Bitcoin icons: Browse to your static IP & upload these icons into your ICONS folder github.com/fti7/awtrix_bi…

Step 4: Install Node-RED in a VM or @umbrel

If you have #proxmox, use the @TProxmox helper scripts to download the LXC. community-scripts.github.io/ProxmoxVE/scri…

In @umbrel install Node-RED Once Node-Red is running, Right Burger Menu -> Manage Palette -> install: node-red-contrib-throttle)

Step 5: Node-RED Bitcoin flow by @icegeist

Step 6: Double click on the "http request" block & point the URL to your static IP Ulanzi

Step 7: Click Deploy to deploy your Bitcoin flow & you're live!

NOTE: You can change between running using @Excellion Million Notation or 6 digit pricing by changing on line in the "Bitcoin APP" in flow. Look for "let btc_m_notation = false" if you want 6 digit prices or True if you want million notation.

FYI - I created two different flows, one using digits & the second flow using million notation. This way both are displayed one after each other.

First steps: Ensure your #Umbrel is set to a StaticIP. To do that:

STEP 1:

Settings - scroll down to the bottom

Advanced settings - click open

Terminal - click open

umbrelOS - click "Run custom commands in umbrelOS

sudo nmtui

enter your password

STEP 2

===========================

Edit a connection

Under Ethernet select: Wired connection 1 (if using a wired connection).

Tab to Edit

Change IPv4 to "Manual"

Address: change to your desired IP i.e. 192.168.1.21/24

Gateway: add your local network gateway IP

DNS servers: add your DNS servers

add an "X" in "Require IPv4 addressing for this connection

Tab to save & exit

STEP 3:

In settings select "Restart" & click on the button.

STEP 4:

===========================

Download & sync Bitcoin Knots 100% first (might take a day or two

STEP 5:

===========================

Download DATUM

DATUM will not start until Knots is synced 100%

STEP 6:

Settings - scroll down to the bottom

Advanced settings - click open

Terminal - click open

umbrelOS - click "Run custom commands in umbrelOS

STEP 7: Edit the .json

# From terminal do the following

cd ./umbrel/app-data/datum/data/settings/

nano datum_gateway_config.json

# add your bitcoin wallet in "pool_address" (do not remove the "" marks)

# modify your tags as desired - your name, pool, handle or anything you want

# under datum "pool_host" (do not remove the "" marks)

# under "pooled_mining_only": change this to false

save the file CTRL O (hit enter)

exit CTRL X (hit enter)

close the Terminal screen

STEP 8: Restart DATUM

At UmbrelOS menu, right click on the DATUM icon & choose Restart

Once DATUM has restarted, it will load the DATUM gateway.

STEP 9:

Then just point your ASIC to stratum+tcp://your_datum_node_ip:23334

Done! You're solo mining & building your own templates the way #SatoshiNakamoto envisioned.

If you have some clients choosing to locally host @Public_Pool_BTC via @umbrel it's easy to change the default TAG from "Public Pool on Umbrel" like happened today when they won the block to something more descriptive & disruptive for the #bitaxe community.

If people are comfortable with CLI & nano just do this: 👇

umbrelOS - click "Run custom commands in umbrelOS

1⃣ Complete #FinancialFreedom for myself, my kids & future generations. I would love to have the freedom to do what I love & retire early from "having" to work to cover my daily expenses & donate my time to help others freely. I want my kids to be free to travel the world, learn multiple languages, study whatever they want & not be pressured to take dead-end jobs just to make ends meet like I have.
