It's not the receiving that's the issue, moreso the sending; I've been noticing a lack of reply and post federation on the fedi side of Mostr from mutuals that would often interact back, NPC being my notable example.
Also, POW replies! Not worth the effort compared to posts, but something cool noStrudel and derived forks have!
If you like PoW, gossip on desktop is better choice due to parallelism

Yes, from what I can see, it is one of the fastest implementations, and significantly faster than noStrudel (again, due to parallelism). In my case, most implementations, including wasm in noStrudel, use only one thread.
In that case, I might take the time to set up Gossip and accept its more barren interface; the slow POW speeds on both mobile and desktop (which are significantly faster compared to the former) keeps me from doing it all the time, and mostly making it a spur of the moment utilization.
Tbh POW on mobile causes more harm then good - for me Nostr is pretty battery-hungry even without PoW 😂
