hey #[2] just for fun I run a query to hundreds of relays and I found my posts being replicated in more than 200 of them. The nostr pollination effect.. and it seems that's happening when people comment or I'm not really sure how but I did not replicate in hundreds of relays.

Anyone can rebroadcast your posts

Vitor maybe you can help here. I just found my post showing up in more than 200 relays although I'm never connected to more than 10 and those are not technically rebroadcasting.

I'm assuming that it maybe that some people rebroadcast but I can't beleive that many people would normally do so my question is the following:

If I post something and you reply. That reply will be a new event type 1 but that will have a tag to the original post. Will Amethyst or clients in general only send that post only to your relays or the fact that the "root" post is there makes clients or relays pull the original one and rebroadcast also?

I'm trying to figure out how did that pollination effect happened that many many relays had majority of my posts

Relays generally don't pull, but anyone can be downloading everything from relay A and sending to relay B. I suspect we have a lot of those just to keep the current consistency we see. Some clients rebroadcast the entire thread to make sure the relay has everything there.
