I think numbers can represent one model of a reality. To say in this room are 5 people is a model description that canlbe true or false verifiable by anyone looking into.

But it does lack details about the people. Their names and hight or color of their eyes.

But I would argue also describing a small fraction of reality is still a description of reality.
