I've had to do this for upwards of 10 GB to transfer files from the office to my laptop through the remote vpn, but the bandwidth was just terrible like this. Took all day and sometimes the transfers would fail.

Dude literally VPN to a network filesystem within the office building. Windows copy and paste. VPN only through the crappy work laptop.

I don't have to deal with that anymore.

i'm happy my fiat land job uses wireguard. it's performance is quite good compared to some previously used VPNs.
