Has anybody gotten the gossip 0.6 release for darwin arm64 to work for them? I've only heard from people who haven't. Why did it work for me? I dunno.

Yes. It’s sandboxed. So, users have to run
$ sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/gossip.app
and it should work
I updated from git repo. Working fine so far.
"Gossip" is damaged and can't be opened. You should eject the disk image.
