Are seeds already a part of current #opensource movements? I know this is rather genetic code, than software. But shouldn't we protect them as public good to reproducible plants, instead of private #copyright protecting these genetic codes behind legal saveguards?

Patenting seeds is deeply troubling.

I think there are similar movements in other countries.

There was a story of a Canadian farmer who did not grow Monsanto crops but because of pollination from a nearby farm, he ended up with some of their genetics and was successfully sued in Canada. (But I don't know if it's true!)

Thanks for sharing the documentary. I will see if I find time to watch it.

And based on the Veritassium this seems to have been happening what you told with the neighbor crops. At least for some time.
