Agreed. Also, once the knowledge and skills have been developed, the energy required for use and care are minimal. That goes for both cast iron and self-custody.

Ultimately, there's no one right tool for all jobs. That's just the way it is.

I preheat my stainless steel pans, the water beads and my food still sticks like crazy. Am I just using bad pans?

Sounds like you do it correctly. It sometimes stick a bit in the beginning but unstick after some time. Not sure if it could be a bad pan
