Do groups of people ever write novels by each writing their own characater? It seems such a technique would make a novel a lot richer and character arcs more consistent. You wouldn't need a mastermind to try to pull all the threads together or to delay for 12 years pretending that he even remembers all the characters he created (you know who I'm talking about).

there's a lot of different things that novels do, but one of my favorite is the omniscient perspective of the narrator giving us the internal experiences of the characters. it seems like if it's all dialog it becomes something else. and if it's not all dialog, who gets to write the narration? seems like it would be too many cooks. but god damnit nostr is the land of limitless possibilities, so I'm open to it.

How do you unify all of the characters under the same narrative? The risk is that you end up with Twitter rather than a novel 😂
