It is just the same problem as with every kind of propriatary software. There is just no way to make sure that the model is fairly supporting the best argument. Clearly this is the same problem with lumo. But when there is a good freedom orientet model, I will defnitly switch to it for the same reason, I would prefer Linux over Windows and Mac or LibreOffice over MS Office.

My reason is mostly the transparency and user empowerment. Utility and performance will increase with more time and more users eventually, while propiatary products have problems they can not get rid of, since the users handicap is the publishers businessmodel.

mʏ exᴘerɪence so far is that claude is the most neutral cloud LLM.

but we need to be able to train them on our hardware at home, and we can't just copy the methods used by the "hyperscalers" as they have massive data centers full of GPUs.

Yes I agree, that I also got great results asking claude. I did not use it for code but rather for questions about philosophy, autonomy, guerillia tactics in authoritarian regimes and other society problems.

And I was almost never disappointed.
