lol it’s all good 🤣 Just curious what his definition is of “hell thread.” Is it 5 npubs? 10? 50? Is it a certain number of replies per minute? Whatever the threshold/criteria, what happens if you just make sure to tag one less person than that threshold? 😂 Just seems silly to worry about it but I’m sure I don’t understand the technical issue at hand.

Both. But significantly more disappointment.
A hellthread is when you continue a thread/reply chain so long, with some many “@“ names in them, and then they tag onto your thread with the people they know, and it just keeps going until it nukes your client and you can’t do anything but close out and hope you’re not continually added.
It’s a nightmare. The first one is a blast, then it’s a nightmare.
I’ve seen that a ton in mastodon and been part of a bunch there. Never knew it had a name. Does hell threads even happen here ? Have you seen it
