Gossip has a bug where ["a", .. , .., "mention"] are being treated as replies. Other clients should see these as top level events. I'll work on a fix.

I think it's a feature. The distinction between mentions/quotes and replies is not very meaningful to me. I wish all these things just showed up as replies.
