I use C-Lightning, and as far as I know, I need an Alby account to use it. Sorry, but I'd prefer to stay self-custodial. :)

Oh, but you can connect our extension to your CLN, as an interface - no need for an Alby account.
Just go to 'add a new accout'->'other wallets' within our extension.
We definitely encourage you to stay self-custodial!
