here are some things i'm noticing about the differences from #nostr and #mastodon (mostly user experience, not technology/protocol)

firstly some circumstantial things, the culture seems a bit different, and there are a lot more users

as a result there is more engagement, and more brand/organization accounts

the content warning seems a lot better as you can categorize what kind of warning instead of a blanket NSFW ⚠️

nostr's engagement options are _signifigantly_ better than mastodon.

on mastodon you can only star posts, whereas us nostriches can multi-emoji react or zap/tip 😁⚡

I've been banging this drum recently, but I really think that there needs to be more work on Mastodon / Nostr protocol bridges.

There's just so much more content on Mastodon, and as you mentioned, some of which are actual online businesses / brands.

I would make a correction though, as far as I know NIP-56 does allow for a few different content categories... nudity, profanity, illegal content, etc... to be marked in content reports.

there is momostr nowadays so that's cool

as far as content warnings, can you do custom ones? on mastodon there was a lot of "US Politics" warnings which i greatly appreciated

yeah nip-56 has presets (nudity, profanity, illegal etc) but totally supports any custom warning you want - just toss it in the `content-warning` tag.

vector displays both the auto-tags and any custom warning like "US politics / existential dread / nunchuck fails" so you're covered.

some heads up tho: syncing masto's nuanced cw culture vs nostr's "post first, tag later" vibe is exactly why bridges keep stalling. fingers crossed momostr keeps grinding on it 🤞
