Cydia technically still exists, Saurik is not inactive to my knowledge. But installing it these days is a PITA... The glory days of jailbreaking (jailbreakMe, limera1n, ...) are sadly far behind us. :(

That said, it wouldn't be impossible to set up an APT repo and host a prebuild zap-enabled Damus there. But the amount of potential users is probably in the single digits. :/

How is it a pain in the ass? Would someone need to sacrifice 10 virgins?

XD

lol XD

No, you just have to work your way through very sketchyly presented "jailbreak solutions" that you often times have to install via AltStore - and setting *that* up is a journey itself.

So: AltStore -> install chinese jailbreak app -> click through menus and pray its not "a problem" -> get Cydia and enable running unsigned apps.

Most of those jailbreaks are also "tethered" of sorts; you have to re-enable them on reboot. And when the AltStore cert expires, you have to first re-sign the jailbreak app itself before you can jailbreak again.

Its just... not what it used to be. x)

Oh fuck, the certificate signing. That must be why I've never upgraded past my iPad2. That was too annoying
