Several months ago, I was speaking with a friend of mine about bitcoin and sound money more broadly.

He has a degree in econ and was skeptical of the things I was saying. However, the one thing he couldn't get around was the NGU aspect. So, skeptical of sound money as a concept or not, he bought some bitcoin (just in case it catches on, you know?).

Since the time the be bought, as you might guess, he's down in dollar terms.

But, after getting some skin in the game, and after countless hours of us discussing politics, he really looked into this whole sound money thing. He kept challenging his own fiat beliefs and now believes that without sound money, we can't fix the world.

It's not about NGU anymore. Sure, he understands that NGU for bitcoin is most likely inevitable and he gets the reasons why. But he also understands (and his understanding keeps getting deeper) that fiat is a prime cause of many of the issues that distrub him.

We were on the phone yesterday and he asked me if I would answer some questions that his girlfriend had about bitcoin. Of course, I was happy to do so.

Now, she'll be reading Broken Money (which he got for Christmas).

There's no profound lesson here or anything. I'm just really happy about the whole thing and wanted to share.
