You are entitled to your opinion. I have little knowledge of the area other than the bombed out shells of Ukrainian villages. They are likely not bombing themselves.

The truth about this would make you sad.
I hear bloviating Americans carry on about this and I wonder how they can be so certain of their facts. It is the silent to whom I turn for answers, often they have nothing but tears. I have a few Ukrainian expats who give me their viewpoint, they are young, early 30s.

It's not at all controversial to talk about the thought policing that Zelenskiy's regime has been enforcing, and how many people have been put in jail for thought crimes.
This is why most ukrainians are not there anymore. I don't know the exact figures but it's in the tens of millions of people who scattered across europe and the americas. I was in Varna at the time, and there were hundreds of new people showing up on a regular basis, some ukranians, and a lot of exchange students, indians and pakistanis and such. Varna is a town with some 10-15% ethnic russians, and is just a ferry ride from Sevastopol and Odessa.
It's not at all balanced to talk about the war as though the bombed apartments was everything. Plenty of stories and information to find out there about how US, UK and other european special forces were setting up positions in these buildings and even sometimes there was still people there, huddling in the basements...
War is hell, and just like every war, this one is based on false premises, and is really just laundering money for a criminal elite.
And yeah, it's very visible to me here where I am. There is 3 houses near me where ukrainians now live. One, around the corner, she is a dressmaker, she has her little ad box out the front advertising her services.
I just pray that everyone who has any sense has long departed from that place. The way the current US government administration is provoking and promoting continued escalation, I think that in all this a lot of people don't understand what's actually behind this, historically.
And at that point I have to stop, but let's just say that not all modern jews had jewish mothers somewhere back in history. They were from the northern regions above the Levant, and this tribe has an old old vendetta that goes back to Tsarist Russia.
The whitest people in the world are russians and ukrainians (and all the rest of the baltic and scandinavian). The whole "white is bad" project is all about revenge on them.
