circa 2006, there was this app called Particls that would allow you to specify topics you were interested in and it would pull from a bunch of RSS feeds and it would have a ticker bar at the top of your screen that would scroll the highlights of what it had matched. This didn't last long before they pivoted to a web app, but I always thought it was a neat idea. I want something like that now. Something that would integrate with my desktop environment and would show a ticker of recent / top nostr events. Then I should be able to dismiss some posts so that it wouldn't scroll those again.

Do you habe any experience with desktop apps? What OS?

The last time I developed a desktop app... it was in VB6.

I'm running Gnome, personally, but I was just putting the idea out into the world.

TBH, I'm not sure if I would end up getting annoyed by it or not. It would be best if it could find a way to be integrated with the top (or bottom) bar in a way that full-screening apps wouldn't obscure it.

I like that idea 💕
