In protocol design, simple is good. If you think of the legal system as a protocol (which it is) its pretty much the worst protocol ever because its littered with literally billions of pages of documentation. It’s literally impossible for anyone to have a decent grasp of it.

Legal systems are the oldest and most successful protocols in existence. It's all well and good to poke fun at cruft but we have as much to learn from studying legal systems as we do criticizing them. How do we avoid Nostr being an overgrown mess in 200 years?
