I think there always will be jobs that will need a human to to them, but with ever more automatisation there will be less need for the exploitation of humans in simple fabrication and so on.
There will be less need for unskilled labor... so that is the point where we WILL need something like a universal basic income.
I’m talking about “need” in terms of gdp. If AI get people twice more productive. The current gdp can be sustained by half labor force. Thus optional. I bet some will keep working as you say
