I mean, yes, if we care strictly about oil that might be true.... The energy source for the batteries on the electric car is an important consideration though.

There's an argument to be made that car dependence supports a kind of "mid-density" suburbia, that is both energy-inefficient and fiscally unsustainable.

You could be running any gas car off on demand hydrogen and not need batteries… electric cars are the gas companies for batteries…

Fully electric cars are a waste of time…

Fully electric cars is also pointless until we have a replacement for diesel in heavy machinery. The reason all the urban planning is about cars is because the central planners of a century had no way to dispose of the gasoline, which was an unwanted byproduct in getting diesel. Electric cars force us to either increase pollution by dumping the gasoline somewhere, or decrease our use of heavy industry - and that's why many countries have de- industrialized. All planned.

Just burn the diesel or petrol in a generator to make the electricity for the electric cars is all that’s going on… so fucking stupid…
