there are definitely valid criticisms to Signal - phone number required, not being able to run your own server, reliance on intel SGX - but it strikes a pretty amazing tradeoff balance, grateful that it exists, most people would be better off if they used it more
unreal how many people tell me "Signal is compromised" then proceed to use imessage for 90% of their chats
If you want privacy, use PGP.
I just don't see the point of another messaging app with a limited feature set.
