Oh haaay, I also worked on an obesity management device at a company called davol; it was basically a transoral sewing machine and didn't work very well because stomach layering is not kevlar or whatever.
The company is in Rhode Island, the same state Taylor Swift has a house.
It is right next to the warwick airport (hopefully not John wick ffs). One time, I left work and went directly to the plane at the airport to Virginia to meet my (now ex) boyfriend who was working down there doing some data center or whatever.
